OUTDOOR EXPERIENCE: The Big House is located within Brookside Cottages & Resort, a 5 acre property that has an additional 13 smaller, vintage fishing cottages,1 apartment, and 2 RV sites. Guests of the entire resort share amenities such as; 350’ lake frontage on all-sports Duck Lake with a sandy beach area, 2 shared docks, 600’ of frontage on Mason Creek (registered trout stream), complimentary shared use of our SUPs, kayaks, water trampoline, swim raft, playground equipment, horseshoe pits, hammocks, detached game room, in-ground heated swimming pool, hot tub, basketball court and more!
**Water Trampoline, water toys and boats are available from Memorial weekend - Labor Day weekend.**
The Big House has its own multi-level furnished decks. There is a gas fire table, perfect for roasting marshmallows while enjoying the gorgeous Duck Lake sunsets, rocking chairs for relaxing on the wrap-around porch with your morning coffee. Guest of The Big House have a private driveway with parking for 4-5 vehicles and use of the attached garage.
INDOOR LIVING: Sleeps up to 14
Main Floor- You’ll enter through the front door, adjacent to the garage, into a spacious entryway which includes a washer and dryer available for guest use.
A large king bedroom off the entryway provides some privacy and separation from the main living quarters and other bedrooms. There are 3 steps that lead you up to the open-concept living, dining & fully equipped kitchen. Just around the corner from the great room is the 2nd main floor king bedroom and a shared, full bathroom with shower/tub combo.
In the living room, the cultured stone fireplace is flanked by a rustic timber mantel & built in shelving, and the massive front sliding doors overlooking the deck with views of the property and peeks of the lake are the focal point of the living area. A flat screen tv with cable can be viewed from the two sofas, one of which is a queen sleeper. The main dining table seats 6, the breakfast nook seats 4-6, there are 2 seats at the kitchen peninsula. On the deck, there is a propane gas grill and a gas firepit table with chairs. The shared in-ground heated swimming pool is just steps away from the back deck of the house. The pool and hot tub are shared amenities of all guests of the resort; including the Big House, 13 cottages, apartment and 2 RV sites.
Another feature of the Big House is the wrap around porch, complete with rocking chairs - a perfect spot to sip coffee in the morning or relax with a book before dinner.
2nd Story- Take the staircase up from the entryway and you’ll find 2 additional bedrooms (one queen and one full over full bunk bed w/ twin trundle) along with the 2nd full bath. You’ll also find the 2nd kitchen, a small table with seating and a large living area with a queen sleeper sofa and flat screen tv with cable. Sliding doors lead to the upper balcony/deck with a seating area.
WHAT’S INCLUDED: All bedding, pillows, sheets & towels are included. You will also receive a complimentary starter pack including hand soap, liquid dish soap, dishwasher pods, dish sponge, toilet paper (2 spare rolls per bathroom), paper towel (1 roll), garbage bags (1 per trash can, plus a spare roll under kitchen sink), laundry soap pods & dryer sheets. Any needs above and beyond the starter pack are your responsibility. Propane gas for the grill & firepit table are also included.
Firewood can be purchased at numerous roadside stands, grocery stores, convenience stores/gas stations in the area. We do not supply firewood.
